UGC CAMPAIGNS
Familia Honda
As part of the social team, one of my key responsibilities was to connect and engage with Honda fans, identifying opportunities to strengthen brand relationships. Honda has an incredibly passionate and loyal community, and we saw firsthand how their enthusiasm shone through in the content they tagged us in. Recognizing the potential in this User-Generated Content (UGC), we began closely monitoring and evaluating submissions.
Whenever we identified content that met Honda's high standards, we swiftly reached out to the creators to obtain the necessary approvals. The creative team would then polish the content, allowing us to quickly and consistently turn around high-quality UGC for our campaigns. This approach not only amplified the voices of Honda’s superfans but also strengthened the connection between the brand and its community.
Our experimentation with UGC led to the realization that Honda’s community operates as one big family, regardless of the vehicle model. This insight inspired the creation of the "Familia Honda" series—a campaign designed to leverage the diverse UGC we received and celebrate our fans. Through this initiative, we invited users to tag us in their content, providing them with a platform to be featured. Over a two-year period, we successfully showcased the stories and creativity of over 60 Honda enthusiasts.
As these initiatives grew, they evolved into full-on productions, especially during key moments like Hispanic Heritage Month and the release of the 2019 Honda Civic. These larger-scale projects allowed us to celebrate cultural milestones and product launches in a way that resonated deeply with our community, further solidifying Honda’s connection with its diverse and loyal fanbase.
Dia De Los Muertos
Here’s an example of how we quickly turned around UGC for a timely campaign. A user shared some amazing photos of herself in a Día de Los Muertos costume with her Honda. Recognizing the quality of the images and the relevance to the upcoming holiday, we immediately grabbed her content and transformed it into a carousel post.
This allowed us to celebrate the occasion while highlighting our fan’s creativity, making it a perfect fit for our brand’s social media.
